The journey was followed by a presentation from Tesla Motors regarding the new destination charging program in Norway, a talk from Thomas Jamne about new learning curves for traditional car repairs centers in the age of EVs, and Snorre Stelvold from Finnish energy company Fortum discussing the future of charger development in Norway. TOCN members also shared some of their images from their recent trip at the Tesla Fremont factory in California.
The village of Flåm has since the late 19th century been a tourist destination. It currently receives almost 450,000 visitors a year. It is known for its 20 km Flam line, one of the steepest railway tracks in the world with a descent of 866 meters (2,841 ft) from Myrdal, with 20 spiraling tunnels in and out of spectacular mountainsides. Unfortunately, due to the overwhelming amount of tourists as of late, the area is suffering from cruise traffic pollution, including dumping of greywater in the bay area.
