First Model 3 reservation holders receiving their appreciation gifts

Shorty after the Model 3 unveiling on March 31st 2016, Elon Musk went on twitter to answer questions regarding to the new mass market electric vehicle. Due to the overwhelming amount of reservations that no one at the company anticipated, Musk had promised a token of appreciation to those who have stood in line at their local stores - some from the break of dawn and few many hours - to be sent by mail in due time. Elon tweeted:

Token of appreciation for those who lined up coming via mail. Thought maybe 20-30 people per store would line up, not 800. Gifts on order.

Yesterday, a picture was circulating on TMC of what appears to be a poster of early sketches of Model 3 arriving by mail to one of the early reservation holders in San Diego, California, with a thank you note from Elon Musk himself:

Thank you for ordering a Model 3.

This might not be the only thing coming in the mail, as Elon did mention back then that a scale Model 3 and "a few other things" will also be included.

Elon also clarified, everyone who reserved a Model 3 will be receiving a gift, but those who have stood in lines at the stores will receive an "extra gift".

Before the unveiling, many speculated that the Model 3 will not surpass the 100,000 reservations after the unveiling. Even Tesla's staff and shareholders did not expect the overwhelming pre-orders the Model 3 incurred. That number was surpassed just when Elon was finishing unveiling the vehicle at the Tesla Design Center. Musk himself tweeted that 180,000 Model 3 deposits were accepted in just 24 hours since the reservation window opened. By the end of Saturday, April 3rd, the reservation tally reached 276,000 pre-orders.
