Tesla recently introduced a hidden Easter egg surprise for Tesla owners by tapping the autopilot function four times in quick succession to launch a "more cowbell" feature where the dashboard display would change to a psychedelically-flashing rainbow road and the famed tonk tonk tonk of Blue Oyster Cult’s “Don’t Fear the Reaper” fills the car.
Last month, Elon
confirmed that more cowbells will be coming via software update soon but as of today a new hidden Easter Egg surprise was revealed for Tesla owners. By pressing the button on the charge handle 10 times in quick succession, or holding the button 5 seconds or longer, while the car is locked and charging, the charge port starts emitting multiple colors consecutively. Older European models without light around the charge port are reporting the three LED lights next to the charging port to work. Both Model S and X owners are confirming this however some older Model S owners are unable to activate it. Below you can see a two types of demonstrations.
